ASHCROFT ADDS LAWYERS TO VOTING RIGHTS SECTION

In the aftermath of Florida's well-publicized allegations of voting abuses in last fall's presidential election, U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft has announced that he is adding eight new attorneys to the Justice Department's Voting Rights Section. The new attorneys will beef up the Department's capability to monitor elections and perform other enforcement work. The Voting Rights Section currently employs 40 attorneys.
